Our Projects

thecarbonline.co.uk take a unique approach to carbon reduction and behavioural change. Your sponsorship will ensure considerable favorable coverage. We will tailor the project to fit your needs, in terms of location, scalability and cost.

The projects involve:

1. Behavioural change on climate action for the whole community
    through public education, supporting your CSR needs;

2. Reduction in energy usage and bills for schools;

3. Renewable energy and energy efficiency measures to cut carbon
    emissions and climate change.

Technology

thecarbonline.co.uk uses the most up to date and efficient technologies to reduce carbon emissions and conserve energy.

Our technologies include:

Wind technology our expert installers survey the site to ensure that wind can play an appropriate role and that it can capitalise on secure wind exposure

Solar Energy – where buildings are south facing we install either electricity generating photo voltaic systems or hot water generating solar heating systems

Biomass – utilizing crops or wood burning to generate electricity

Ground source heat pumps – fascinating and ground breaking technology which sucks cold air from buildings and replaces it with warm from under the ground

Water micro generation – one current pilot involves a micro hydro turbine which generates continuous electricity from a flowing river

We also promote Energy Efficiency measures such as insulation (in Yorkshire we are using local sheep to provide wool for this!), low energy lighting, motion sensors to turn off / on lighting, efficient boiler replacements and practise management such as turning off photocopiers, PCs’ and printers.

Education & Public Understanding

Climate change will affect the fundamental conditions for people around the world – access to water, food production, health and the environment.

Hundreds of millions of people could suffer hunger, water shortages and coastal flooding as the world warms.

If a wider range of risks and impacts is taken into account, the estimates of damage could be equivalent to 20% of GDP or more. In contrast, the costs of preventative action – reducing greenhouse gas emissions to avoid the worst impacts of climate change – can be limited to around 1% of global GDP each year.

thecarbonline.co.uk offers an opportunity for your business to actively contribute to overcome the reality which we now face and make the world a better place. Literally. By offsetting your carbon emissions through us you will directly cut the emissions from schools. 15% of carbon emissions in the UK public sector come from schools.

Our work is deliberately focussed on schools to reach the widest possible audiences. Each school we work with also means hundreds of parents educated – taking action themselves in their own home.

Teachers will learn how to teach the next generation influencing them to step up the fight against climate change in practical and fun ways, utilising the equipment as learning support materials.

This means further carbon savings and children not making the mistakes of previous generations. We also ensure publicity for the projects, so that the local community is made aware of your participation.
